Sweden’s dashing prince and his wife (a former reality star) have become parents for the first time.

At 6:25pm local time, Princess Sofia gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 7.9 lbs and measuring just over 19 inches long, according to the palace.

“Both mother and child are in good health,” a statement confirming the good news read.

“Prince Carl Philip was present at the hospital throughout the birth.”

The little prince joins four older cousins, including Prince Oscar, who was born last month to Carl’s older sister, Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel.

Victoria and Daniel have a four-year-old daughter, Estelle, who is heir to the Swedish throne.

Victoria and Carl’s younger sister, Madeleine has two children – a two-year-old daughter, Leonore, and son Nicolas,10 months – with husband Chris O’Neill.

Traditionally, a Te Deum mass is held the next day in honor of the newborn, and King Carl XVI Gustaf will gather cabinet members for a meeting within the next few days to announce the baby’s name.
