Khloe Kardashian has made a pretty startling admission:
She was once diagnosed with skin cancer.
In a blog entry titled “My Skin Cancer Scare” on her official website, KhloeWithAK, the reality star goes into detail for the first time about what happened.
“I’m writing this post with the hope that my story can get some of you in to see your doctor if you notice something wrong with your skin,” Khloe started.
“I’ve gone through this process a couple of times and I am so grateful that most moles have not been cancerous. However, there was one mole I had on my back that was skin cancer.”
The incident took place about a decade ago.
“I had 8 inches of skin removed,” Kardashian wrote, addig:
“It was definitely painful because it was a lot of skin, but most of the time, the removals haven’t been that bad.”
Khloe isn’t the first celebrity to open up about a skin cancer scare.
Hugh Jackman has had a couple of them, pleading on multiple occasions for fans to be careful and to get themselves checked as often as possible.
Khloe’s step-father, Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner), also underwent a procedure for skin cancer in 2013.
“I haven’t had a problem in years, but wanted to share my experience with you so that if you notice something doesn’t look right, you will take action and take care of your health,” Kardashian wrote online.
“Check yourself frequently!”
Kardashian also shared a chart on the “ABCDEs of Skin Cancer” for identifying irregular moles in the hopes of helping others.
We’ve got nothing we can mock in this case.
Yes, we typically have negative things we can say about Khloe and her fellow family members, mostly because they make it so easy.
But we’re glad she’s okay in this case and we couldn’t agree more with her message.
Be careful out there. Use sunscreen. Get yourself checked. You can’t be too careful.
